WHO'S WHO IN THE CAST
CHARLAYNE WOODARD (Actor/Playwright). Ms. Woodard's first play, Pretty Fire, received the L.A. Drama Critics award and NAACP awards for best play and playwright. Pretty Fire was produced Off-Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club and regionally at Seattle Repertory Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse. Her second play, Neat was also produced at Manhattan Theatre Club where it received the Irving and Blanche Laurie Theatre Vision Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination. It was also produced at Seattle Repertory Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. In Real Life, developed at the Sundance Theatre Lab, was commissioned by the Mark Taper Forum and Seattle Repertory Theatre. Produced at both theatres, it received the Backstage West Garland award and NAACP awards for best playwright and actor. Ms. Woodard recently completed a TCG/PEW Charitable Trust National Theatre Artist Residency Program Fellowship and has been commissioned by the Mark Taper Forum to adapt African American folk-tales for the stage. Her Broadway credits include the original cast of Ain't Misbehavin' (Tony and Drama Desk nominations). Off-Broadway credits include In the Blood by Suzan-Lori Parks (Obie Award and Drama Desk nomination), Sorrows and Rejoicings by Athol Fugard, Twelfth Night, The Caucasian Chalk Circle and Hang on to the Good Times (Drama Desk nomination). Regional credits include The Good Person of Setzuan, adapted by Tony Kushner, at the La Jolla Playhouse. Film credits include Sunshine State, Unbreakable, Million Dollar
