ZEN PALATE,
663 Ninth Avenue
at 46th Street
This branch of the legendary Zen Palate
family is so soaringly dramatic (courtesy of
designer Tony Chi), we're tempted to call it Zen Palace! Its healthful creations have
spelled contentment to Michael J. Fox and
Woody Allen, along with actors from Take
Me Out and Metamorphoses.
  Charlie, the knowledgeable owner,
points out that the menu's dishes contain
poetic names along the lines of Shredded
Heaven, Rose Petals, Sesame Medallions
and Harvest Delight Salad. All are
extremely tasty vegetarian delights, and
the entire menu beckons with exotic culi-
nary sensations and serenity.
  Service is pleasant and informative,
while the price structure seems more than
fair considering the overall stylishness and
top ingredients.

ZEN PALATE is open seven day. Sun.-Thurs. 11:30
am-10:45 pm. Fri., Sat. till 11:30 pm. Entrees $8-$17.
D'ly spec's. Tatami rooms. No spirits-bring your own
wine. Also at 34 Union Square East; 2170 B'way; and
Westbury, L.I. Res. 582-1669. www.zenpalate.com
