the Opera House, where Timbuktu! played prior-to-Broadway. The Kennedy Center is one of the producers of the Broadway hit Annie.

LUTHER DAVIS (Book/Producer) makes his return to Broadway as a playwright and his debut as a theatrical producer with Timbuktu! He is the General Partner of the producing entity and it was he who conceived of the project and of the notion of rewriting Kismet, moving it from Baghdad to fourteenth-century Mali's principal city. Besides Kismet (which he co-authored with the late Charles Lederer and for which they won a Tony), Davis wrote the Broadway play Kiss Them for Me which starred Richard Widmark and Judy Holliday. He has written 14 feature movies. Among them are B.F.'s Daughter starring Barbara Stanwyck, Black Hand starring Gene Kelly, The Hucksters starring Clark Gable, A Lion Is in the Streets starring James Cagney, Across 110th Street starring Anthony Quinn and Yaphet Koto, Lady in a Cage starring Olivia de Havilland and James Caan (which he also produced) and (with Charles Lederer) the Howard Keel-Ann Blythe Kisket. For television he wrote and produced the Helen Hayes-Lillian Gish "Arsenic and Old Lace," and many other specials and pilots. His newest film script A.J. Oliver's Private School is being produced by Lord Lew Grade and Martin Starger in association with Al Simon.
