Stoughton February 7th 1986

Dear Doris

The day is dull, no sun, but a chilly atmosphere, I fear more snow. I finished my bed quilt last evening. my next one is not started yet. the pieces are very pretty. I managed to get my other one out of cloth I had on hand, as it was the old quilt you sent home. the lining was all new + much prettier than the one I sent down before xmas time. Mrs Barry is sitting in the front room evenings, as the room is warmer. I brought down the little tiny lamp you got for Pa + she thinks it great to read by. she is trying to save heat all she can. you would be surprised at one who has always had so much, to see how wonderful she is + the way she does. she is very kind to do it. Laura Gebheart says she means to take me to ride when the weather gets decent. it is so slippery here many get stuck, although they have many of the streets pretty well sanded now. this winter has been a pretty hard one for us + hope it wont last much longer. our snow made havoc + extended once a vast area. what was
