that every doctor in town was invited to Nat Faxons dinner Saturday night except Dr Brides was not that a slap in the face? she is as mad as I am about it. she has been to see him about it to help console him. I hear his licence was taken away for a year. I have not seen him since last May when he took me to see about my glasses. but its too bad. he knows more than any doctor in town. he just gave them the chance to squelch him he was a fool. The many times Ewing has been to his patients dead drunk has been forgotten. Mrs Osborne has told be he was the cause of her husbands not being sent to the hospital in time to prevent blood poison on account of him in a drunken condition coming to treat him. Brides would never neglected his patients.

This morning is clear & still warmer than we have been the radio says cooler as the day continues 20° above. Mrs Barry & her crowd go to Wellsley for their dinner & to play cards. they meet a couple of friends there & have a good time each month at this time (society.) Mamie Kate is very low. Dr Faxon say she is beyond any bodys power to help. he is going away on his vacation Thursday. no one knows how long she will hold out. her strength is ebbing & she is suffering much hard pain. from heart & gaul stones [[gallstones]]. a great mercy when relief comes. hope you are feeling well Ma
