Mrs Barry to come down Thursday to see her. she is allowed just fifteen minutes to an interview. Faxon is her doctor. I am making patchwork. I have cut out a lot of squares since the snow storm began - so now I am sewing on it when alone & am well entertained. Careta hates sewing so she goes some where every day & most every night. she will get used up in a hurry sometime I fear. all the younger element do these days is play cards and smoak & eat heartily. no other object in life. I dont believe I would care to be society goers but dont know how it would be if I had been brought up to do so. times are changed in the last few years. I am old fashioned & sigh for the good old times that will never return. as Hover says the younger ones will inherit the debt. The good old King George is gone & his son is not married, or like to be no one of royalty for him. what a dilemma. the Harringtons we have not seen this week & I want my elecric light & telephone bills paid. she may go down tomorrow if the snow stays off & if so, will pay them I trust. our winter has begun in earnest. hope you escape it. we woke up Thursday morning to find it was blowing a gale, wind west & ther 10° above & no snow storm yet. I am trying to heat up in spite of difficulties if the wind would only stop it could be easily done. Barry has just come down & is making the coffee for breakfast hope you are all right & enjoying this beautiful cool day. Ma
