Sunday Afternoon Sep 13th [1936]

Dear Folks.
Saturday was a sultry day & ended about sunset in a shower with not much rain but cleared the air for the night. then the wind changed into the NW. so to day is a nice clear day. we have both enjoyed the change & feel more like our selves in such a change for the better. I had the lawn mowed yesterday & well raked over, so that looks much better. a new boy came & he did a good job, he lives in the house down in the hollow below Raychards & we heard the family were very poor & hardly had enough to eat, but were very deserving, he was so pleased with the money (I gave him a quarter) that he was showing it to the neighbors when they passed by & said now that makes .50 I have earned to day. Mrs Ballentine said she was going to have him mow her lawn the next time. for she felt sorry for them. Addie told Mrs Barry that Mrs Blake treated her very fine the day she was over here & she likes you very much. they want their brother to come over here to get cheered up he is
