bottom near [[Ilweus river?]] - up to the Nutpine [[belt?]] of the Sierras.

Dec. 22d
Went up to my traps in the Sierras but found nothing but a few [[Hespereneus?]] until I ventured to some traps set at the upper edge of the Alabamas - among some traps set there for [[Hasperomys?]] among the rocks on the far rocky point about 70 ft. above the base of the hill. It is a very gray colored little animal.

Dec. 23d
Went up to the Sierras to traps + set a series along the creek next to the Lone Pine Cr. (South) beginning above lower edge of Nut Pines and running down the [[?]] hoping to get some specimens of [[neoserex?]]. Saw many sialia archia among the sage brush [[?]] Alabamas + Sierras. They were in straggling parties from 3 or 4 to 15 or 20.
