The additional number of pups on the rookery today must therefore have been born since the 24th.  This also accounts for the many pups seen lying between the females yesterday.

The weather was perfectly calm;  foggy, the fog lifting at intervals.

I took an upright photo. from sta. 5. intruded to show the two bunches of females in the water.

Thus far no dead pups have been seen on the rookery
