Very low tide, nearly enters ry dry.
Nearly all the ♀︎ in the Sea and outer S rock, only 18 being on the beach.

[[calculation]] 51 + 135 + 105 = 291 - 16 = 275
Only about 275 pups on [[strikethrough]] shore [[/strikethrough]] beach

On beach only the largest bull, the [[strikethrough]] younger [[/strikethrough]] smaller one having followed the females out to the outer S rock

1 dead pup on beach, and a couple of pups looking rather thin, possibly starving

bachelors about, though only 6 could be seen on shore this evening told us to be prepared for a drive at 3am tomorrow morning if the conditions were favorable.

July 28.

Nothing came of the drive, however, as no bachelor seals were on the beach at the appointed time.

At 10 am we visited the ry. it being very low tide, the whole reef being dry, to [[?shore]] which I took a photo from sta. 5. the weather was pleasant and warm though overcast.
