Marshal of Freedmen, and it is agreed on the part of the parties of the second part that they will each will and faithfully perform such labor as the said J.M. Walker may require of them for the time aforesaid not exceeding ten hours per day in summer and nine hours per winter and in case laborer shal voluntarily absent him or herself from or shal neglect or refuse to perform the labor here in in promised and the fact shal be proven to the satisfaction of the proper officer the parties so offending shal be punished in such manner as the Provose Marshal of Freedmen shal deem proper it is further agreed that any wages or share of profits due the said laborers under this agreement shal constitute a first lien upon all crops or parts of crops produced on said plantation or tract of land by share labor and no shipments of products shal be made until the Provose Marshal of Freedmen shal certify that all dues to said laborers are paid as satisfactory arranged.

In testimony whereof the said parties have affixed these names to this agreement, in the county of Oktibbeha State of Mississippi on the day and date aforesaid
