Memorandum of an agreement made this 1st day of September 1865, between J.O. Mobley, of Yazoo county of Mississippi, State of the first part and Freedmen in his employ, of Yazoo county of Mississippi, State of the second part.
Witnesseth, That said J. O. Mobley, for the consideration hereinafter mentioned, agrees to furnish the said freedmen with good wholesome food substantial clothing and necessary medical attention and allow them the privilege of selling such articles as may have been raised or ground allotted to them for their own use
Also the one half of each Saturday and Sunday until the 1st day of January 1866

And said the Freedmen George + Mary, for the consideration herein before mentioned agree to remain on the plantation of the said J.O. Mobley until the 1st day of January 1866 and to do good and faithful labor subject to the directions of said J.O. Mobley and not to leave the place without his permission
