This Agreement made the 2nd day of december 1865 between Mrs. Elizabeth Withers of Madison Co. MIssissippi of the first part and the undersigned Freedwoman of the same place of the second part

The party of the second part agrees to hire herself to the party of the first part from 1st day of January to 31st day of December 1866 as farm laborer to perform her duties faithfully and cheerfully for the consideration of four dollars "pr" month half of which is to be paid quarterly & the balance at the expiration of the contract, with this consideration that if a good crop is made and she works faithfully, she is to receive six in lien of four dollars "pr" month to be paid at the end of the year.

The party of the first part agrees to furnish the party of the second part with good rations, good house and fire wood & a "track" patch if required.
