Houhton June 12 1929
Dear Doris, 
We are still having cool days & sunny over head, but today its hazing up a bit & looks showery. I have just been over to get some fertilizer from the barn cellar to put on the tomatoes, some of them are smaller than others, if I can bring them up to bear, I will be lucky. for the most part things are doing pretty well, all but summer squash, only one has made its appearance as yet. Will Edna & the body has arrived to the funeral is this morning, just a prayer at the grave. Millikins funeral was Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Pa went as one of the bearers. Lots of funerals these days. Gertrude Loving is in the hospital, the Ambulance came after her Tuesday noon. Stanley came in yesterday & said they could not tell what ailed her, so that the operation had not taken place. Sunday she couldn't keep anything on her stomac, what came up or went
