Fred [[?]] was up this afternoon to find out who owned and how much land back of Teds & and Welches & back of Lucas [[?]] old place & porch of McNands for the wood's fire burned it [[?]] over Decorater[[?]] Day so, that section looks rather bad for Bird life now. it took as far as the stream that fills Welches Pond. it was the only bad Woods fire this spring around here. this makes me think I took off the smoke pipe cleaned out the [[?]] and back of the chimney at the bottom to day too out a lot from the Flues of [[?]] it seems to as good as it was when I put it in and here had a session at the pine log. sawed some of the split ones not all of it on my side as yet
