the brand new table cloth, with such a pretty pattern was nice & I am hemming it to put it away in the drawer this morning. the boxes of figs & dates we sampled yesterday. Pa liked his things, those ties & stockins took his eyes & the suspenders were badly needed. Talbot gave him four pairs of white footed stockins, but yesterday while cutting down the trees & rubbish he lost his fountain pen, we hunted for it by spells all day but it was no use. he is always losing one. last year he lost one in the coal bin, & I after wards found it after going through the fire, in the ashes. We were bountifully remembered & are very thankful to you for the lovely things you sent us for xmas. Did the baby look cunning in her hood? I thought the pink lining next to her dear little face, would be so becoming. how I would like to see her with it on. the dresses she can wear when it gets to be warmer. they are old styled, but they will be cool & comfortable, & she will have others more up to date of course. Sids mother was out riding in Ralphs car they said, so I guess she might have been there to dinner. How does the baby take to her orange juice these days? does she sleep better mornings & have you got her to go without her feed around two o'clock? well I must stop now & mix up my bread & make a squash pie or two
