Agreement with Freedman
This agreement made and entered in to this the 16th day of January 1866 by and between N. Jasper Benson of the county of Panola and State of Mississippi of the first part and Lizza Benson, Colored, of the said state and county of the second part Witnesseth

The said party of the second part agrees with the said party of the first part for her daughter Cate a minor to be under the exclusive control and management of Mrs. Benson during the entire year 1866 to do all necessay house work. Cooking washing ironing and all things that is necesay or may be required by said Mrs. Benson and not to leave the Mansion and go to the quarter to remain any time without the permission if and especially is to remain in the Mansion of nights and in the event the said Cate stays away from the Mansion any night without permission her wayges is to be docked $1 for each offense.

The Said party of the first part agrees to treat the said Cate humanely furnish her wholesome? provisions.
