Short Creak Jan 19th 1866, 

Margret Wallis & Daughter agrees to work on S.A. Hamels place for $16. Dollars per month Said wages to be paid at the end of the year.  Said S.A Hamel is to furnish them rations 3 Lb of meal & 1 peck of Meal each Said Margret & Daughter are to obey all orders and do faithful labor during the year. There is to be no labor required of them from 12 Oclock Saturday until Monday morning except The the care of Stock and other necessary labor Except in picking Cotton Said S.A. Hamel is to give them the Medical attention as far as He is able but if a Doctor is needed they will have to pay for it.
