Yazoo County Miss

January 4th 1866

Article of agreement between H.N. Bridges of the first part and we the undersigned women of color. We the undersigned women of color do agree & bind ourselves faithfully to labour for H.N. Bridges during the year 1866 and faithfully to obey all orders given, and to labour in good weather through six days in each week and not to absent ourselves from the place only as permitted by said Bridges In case of sickness over seven days a fair deduction of wages is to be made. H.N. Bridges binds himself to pay each of us six dollars per month or seventy two dollars per year 1866 also H.N. Bridges binds himself to furnish said laborers with two suits of cloth and to give each of said laborers 3 lbs of meat & one peck meal per week and faithfully to obey orders & perform good labor if said laborers absence herself from work without [[strikethrough]] work [[/strikethrough]] permission is a forfeiture of wages H N Bridges binds himself on his part not to discharge or turn off said laborers as long as they will comply with said contract
