State of Mississippi 
Panola County
January 20th 1867 

This is to show that I Frank Pugh of the County of Panola & State of Mississippi have this day hired for the year 1867, Alexander Miles and his wife Amanda Miles, upon the following conditions; I Frank Pugh agree to furnish the said Alexander Miles and his wife with good rations & pay them on the 25th day of Dec next One Hundred & Fifty Dollars in Green backs - for which they, the said Alx Miles and his wife agree to work six days in each week during the year at any & all work that I may see cause to have done. either in the farm, garden, about the house or elsewhere and for each day that either one may lose from sickness or other causes the sum of fifty cents per day is to be deducted from their wages-
