This indenture made an entered into this 11th Day of January 1867 Between B. Sterdavant & D. Delap of the County & the State of Mississippi of the first part and the undersigned freed laborers of the second part Witnesseth that the said laborers namely Caroline Canon have agreed to work for the said Ben Sterdavant and D Delap from the 11th Day of January 1867 to the first Day of January 1868 to do all Kinds of work common to the farms of the country to work for one third of the crop made on the Z.T. Harrison farm said laborers to pay for their Clothing & to feed the stock get their Breakfast and be at work in the field by sunrise & to work till sun set allowing the usual time for Dinner and During the cotton picking season to put away their days work after sun set to do their work faithfully be Respectfull in their deportment and to obey all orders from himself or manager & the said laborers further agrees that the time lost by sickness shall be deducted & the time lost by idleness absence without leave three times the amount shall be deducted & rations and the said party
