Thomas Fergason A freedman do hereby agree for my self and family my Step Son Charley and my Son Newton and my Daughter Sarah and my Daughter Elizer to work on a farm nown as the [[?]] of Mrs [[?]] F. Gates I agree to do all work that is nessary to carry on a farm to make a good enof for the year 1867. For Wiley W Hill or his Agent for One fourth of the intir crop corn and cotton and potatoes and pease and oats or enny thing els they may raise I Wiley W Hill agree to furnish all of the plow teams and plows and food for teams, and I agree to furnis each hand 3 1/2 pounds of Bacon a weak and each 1 peck of corn meal I also furnish land free of [[?]] fire wood free of charge for the year 1867 I Thomas Ferguson do agree to controll my famly and make them work and make them behave them selves I Thomas Ferguson do agree to work 70 acres of land in corn and cotton and work it as well as it can be worked or I will do all in my power to [[?]] the crop cleane I Wiley W Hill do agree to pay all of the hands for all improvements made or don on the place at the same Gates they [[?]] out of the crop And if I Thomas Ferguson do agree if I do get mad and quit on my own acord I will forfeit all of my claim in the crop for the year 1867 I Wiley W Hill do promis not to impose on Thomas Ferguson or family for the year 1867 I [[?]] [[?]] Thomas Ferguson do agree to make all of my family behave them selves for the year 1867
