Your favor of the 8" is rec'd and contents noted with pleasure. We shall be glad to aid the freedmen of Clarksville in the way of rent of a School room if we can be assured a good school will be Kept and reports made to this office monthly.
Please make written application either direct to me or through Capt. Wm. Morgan, Agent, Dardanelle. Stating the character and size of the room and the name of the party to whom the rent is payable.
We will build a house if you can secure a site as per enclosed circular.

One teacher at least, Miss D.F. Getman from Detroit Mich., has been assigned to the Pine Bluff School. It is quite probable that the services of Mrs. D. will be required, but I can not till positively till Miss G. arrives which will be soon after the 20th inst. at farthest. When the teacher arrives please confer with her and advise me.
