In reply to your favor of the 14" I would respectfully state that I have not the authority to hire nor the funds to pay teachers- they are sent here or have heretofore been by the benevolent Associations of the North. There is no objection at this office to your reaching an arrangement with the trustee of your district to teach a public school till such time as a teacher is sent forward- indeed I should be pleased if such an arrangement could be made.
