The Mission school building was erected by the Freedman's Bureau at an expense of about $7000.00 and is [[borne?]] upon my return as Supt. of Education. I am not advised of the intentions of the Commissoner concerning the future custody of this building and others similarly situated, but it may safely be assumed that no change will be made before the class of the present school year. Meanwhile the Board of School Directors will remain in full possession and control of the building for school purposes in the future as they have been in the past, if they so desire, and without cost to the city.
