Stoughton March 12th 1939

Dear Folks

For want of something to do this stormy day I will write you a few lines & tell you we are having a real old fashioned snow storm. it began last night about dark & has continued all day today & the longer it goes the harder it rages. the report says gales of wind along the coast tonight from the south east. so we have a lot to look forward to. hope it dont do any damage. early this morning I swept a path & now its fast filling up. we are in hopes winter will end with us soon. March seems to be our worst month one should say.

The Winslow Drake family came from Florida Friday night. I take it they should have delayed their stay a little longer & they may think so now. hope Lena is basking in the sun light down in Florida. we were not all of us born lucky but tomorrow we may rejoice in our sun shine I hope so. glad you are having your nice spring days & hope no cold change will mar your flowering shrubs. the frogs here have not thawed out & no birds have appeared so far as I have seen it has been a very cold

Snow this morning 5 inches deep more than we have had all winter. Ma
