Stoughton February 19th 1939

Dear Folks

We are having warmer weather since our second blow of Thursday, which brought rain and snow then terrible fridgid weather, which was hard to stand, after a warm spell of a couple of days before the snow is gone & the ground about bare once more. thanks be

Well today is my birthday & so far it is warm & pleasant. your bundle arrived safe & I was pleased with the contents. there will be something to interest me for some time to come & the little flower will thrive in the sunny window. ginger root is to my liking as you very well know.

I have received quite a few cards one from Myrtie, a very handsome one from Alice, one from  the Sopers & Georgie Perkins, one from Mrs Barry & a ready made dress. a flower from Mamie Kate & card, so you see I have been duly remembered on my 84th birthday. we are expecting Anna Lamb to dinner. she will have someone bring her, the Cohennoes perhaps. She said she had been out twice since her sick spell. we are having chicken for our dinner & guess a lemon frosted pie. it looks like, but doubt if Anna will dare to eat that pie, it will be too rich for her delicate
