Fred Leonards son came here to take us down to vote he came the night before to say he would come for us if we would like to have him. so we did'nt have to call up the Republican headquarters.
Kimptis has just been after his lumber & ladders he is on another job but he fixed the front step & bulkhead & will come again to finish up the jobs he said.
Alice Woods bought your two books the other day when she came. I never said anything one way or the other so there was no trouble. she appeared very natural. Mystic is still up to Vermont. resting she is a hard working woman so she thinks.
I have to day sent the two little dresses & Sidneys nighties. hope the latter may soften up by washing as the cloth seemed pretty stuff for under wear. I made the dresses just like the patter, as there was no way to try them on, so hope they were right in length.
Hope those trees Sidney spoke of will be satisfactory those three that are left standing lean away from the little building & seem safe to leave, the one that fell went towards the west away from his building we may never have another such a hurricane in our day I hope not. Mrs Welch has not made an effort to have her yard cleared up neither have the Ballens hope they get them out the way before long its terrible to see them
