lucky for it would been hard for me at my age to get any body to do the work. he said he remembered taking one down for Pa once.

The Ballantines are at a loss to find some one to do their job, so their trees remain just as they fellover accross the way from us it took the stone cap & turned it half way around on Elmeses face wall. when it was placed there it took several men & a derrick to do it. you would think it could be easily pushed back but Oh! no. its not so easily done, for they tried to do it but failed to budge it a hairs breath & it still remains. that shows how strong the wind was. we were lucky our window & door was'nt [[wasn't]] blown in it sounded as thoug [[though]] it would come in any minute for a long time. I felt very anxious. hope never to witness another one. most of the shingles were blown off our roof. I have been burning them as I pick them up ever since. hope Kimtis comes soon to remedy it, as in the last rain it came through in several places. it does seem good to know it was no worse.

Hope you did'nt [[didn't]] fall from your painting job it seems too hard for you to do such things but suppose you like it. do go slow or you will give out young & then where will you be? Ma
