Dear Folks

We are still having damp weather. yesterday was the first day we had seen the sun for a week, our tropical storm of pouring rain lasted a week with terrible down pours. every thing seems damp, it will take lots of hot sunshine to dry thing up, lots of damage has been done to crops & property. the papers are full of it. I suppose cellars are full of water, mine has had some but nothing of any account. I am anxious to have the rain stop and hope the worst is over.

Mr Turner brought Alice over Saturday morning from Avon when he came for Mrs Barry to go on their trip I had a card from her yesterday, saying they had reached Littleton NH. and were supposed to be in Sherbrook Tuesday but on account of car trouble, were delayed, a very fine group of people were on the trip. & they were stopping at a nice place I do hope Mr Turner will get through all right but he was very pale & worried I thought when he started from the house here he had worked on his car ever since
