During the past three years, while the prices of School-books constantly advancing, we were invariably the last to advance; and when the close of the war seemed to promise a general decline, not only in the price of books but other commodities, we were the first to reduce. We had hoped necessity would not arise again for the prices of our publications; but we have been disappointed. The decline in paper, printing and binding material, etc., anticipated at the time of issuing our late list in June last, did not follow, but, on the contrary, prices have since materially advanced. This compels us very reluctantly to again advance our prices.
