Sir, I arrived here this morning and reported to Maj. Hale and entered upon duty at once.
I have already secured a place for a teacher on G. Stoddard Jr. and Company's place at New Gascony.  The name of the plantation is Creed Taylor's place.
From what I can learn there is a chance for another teacher, eight miles below New Gascony, at Swan Lake.
Mr. Stoddard desires, a lady teacher one who will be company for his wife she is to board in his family - he also will provide a school house.
