these 9 teachers carried on schools steadily through the winter months subjected to great inconvenience on account of the inconvenient and delapidated condition of the school buildings with no desks or other advantages for the scholars. Joanna P. Moore carried on night schools nearly all the time with the assistance of the other teachers. The average number of teacher is very difficult to obtain as sometimes the teachers were alone then 3 teaching together and one offered to take another's place on account of sickness. Taking April as our average (though perhaps rather a better month than the average) because in it all the reports are clear and all the teachers at work we find _as follows_
