Dear Sir

I am anxious to establish a school for the benefit of freedmen in this vicinity, but am unable to do so without help.  I wish to put up a suitable building and am willing to contribute the lumber for the same.  The principal portions of the work can be done by my freedmen.  What we want is about $100 to be used in the purchase of windows, doors, trees, men, etc.  I respectfully request
