I received the other day a draft from Bro. Shipherd of $100. to enable me to go home, but after all I believe I'll stay if I'm not too hardly pressed. Mrs S's health is not very good but if she can stand it I have concluded not to go home. One other contingency is if my business at home will not suffer too much by my absence. Lost two weeks during month ending on 28 inst - by sickness - one week my wife - next myself. "Freedman" came from Chicago but no books and no letter of transmittal. All quiet.
Mr. Clark of Fowler's Place called on me to write you that he wished to see you soon as possible. He's got some scheme on foot. don't
