Sir

Enclosed herewith I send you the report of Mr. Hare, of the Freedmens School at this place.

Since the visit of Mr Miller the freedmen have shown a disposition to take more interest in the school, and I hope by next report to say that it is self sustaining. As soon as the necessary papers can be completed to the title of the Lot bought by the freedmen for school purposes, I will forward the names of the trustees and hope that some appropriation can and will be made for a building as the one the school is now held cannot be heated there being no place for a stove and the chimney is not worth repairing.
