I would like to inquire if all the Freedmen who attend school are expected to pay for their tuition? If they have not the means to contribute, will the planter be responsible?
Is it expected that the planter will give the Society, the teachers board? These questions have been asked me since my arrival. Judge Coulter's family are very kind & pleasant people. I have enjoyed my stay here very much, I should be more contented if I was at work for the Freedmen. My heart is in this great work, & I hope my labors will not be in vain. My P.O. Address, Brownstown Sevier Co. Ark. care of Jacob Sims. Please remember me to Mr and Mrs Miller.
