of Subsistence to acquire the means for attaining Knowledge. This proposed to place the Supervision of the Schools in the hands of a Committee of prominent freedmen most deeply interested in the cause of learning as soon as the Schools are fairly underway It is believed that the Gov't will not be put to any Expense.  The great wants are Teachers and books to make a start with.
