Washington Ark
March 31st 1868

Hon Wm. M. Colby.
Supt Education
Little Rock Ark

Dear Sir. I have the honor herewith to transmit Report of Lincoln Academy for the month of March.
I presume the Report will be satisfactory except financially, No one is more dissatisfied with this portion of the Report than myself and no one has a better right to complain.

Judging from the tenor of the letters I have recd, I presume it is expected that I should make the school almost self sustaining, and having been left upon my own resources since Sept last no one has worked more than I have to make the collections meet my expenses, and the result is anything but Encourageing. With this Exception, I believe the school is satisfactory to the Patrons and myself.

Very Respectfully
D. C. Casey.
