William M. Colby Esqr
Supt. Education Bureau R.F. & A.L
Little Rock, Arks.

Sir
Enclosed herewith I have the honor to transmit copy of deed to land conveyed to Trustees of Arkadelphia African School.
The acknowledgment of mark of Caroline Sloan has not been made proper by the Justice of the Peace and has been returned to him to make complete. with that exception I think everything is in proper shape.
Lumber can be delivered here for $17.00 per thousand, labor runs from $3. to $5 per day, Shingles about $7.00 per [[strikethrough]]M[[/strikethrough]] and nails 15 cents per pound.
The Lumber is not seasoned and none can be got about here, therefore it would be better to try and secure it in time that it can become seasoned.
Hoping I hear from you soon in regard to this matter.
I remain Very Respectfully
Your obt Servt
A. E. Habicht
