We are both of us fully prepared to give you references to Clergymen who will testify to our education, character, and standing in community.  Shall we give you the names of such Clergymen to whom you may write for information or shall we request them to write to you?  We wait anxiously for a reply.  We also wish information of how much [[strikethrough]] is [[/strikethrough]] of our expenses gov. transportation will cover?  And also if transportation can not be furnished us before we start? as we have not the means to defray our expenses.  Can we not come the fall part of September as we would prefer to come then?

We wait patiently for a speedy reply to these inquiries hoping that as you have the interest of Freedmen at heart you will assist us to get to that field where we may accomplish something for their improvement
