Supt of Education

Sir
I have the honor to inform you that the school house at this place will be completed in about three weeks. It is now enclosed and the materials for completing it are on the ground There are four carpenters at work on it
I hope you will have a good teacher sent here by the time it is completed, There is a probability that the house will be too small to accomodate the scholars this winter. Many of the freedmen that live at a distance are making arrangements to board their children in Town so they can go to school A boarding house for their accommodation will be built near the school house.
The corn crop is excellent and the prospect of a heavy crop of cotton is good. No worms have yet made their appearance. The freedmen are all working
