Wm. M. Colby
Supt. Education

Dear Sir
Maj Clark acknowledged receipt your letter as I desired. I hope you will be able to give us some information for use on July 27 to 29 at Oberlin, Ohio, this our place of meeting.
I saw my brother. Give O.O a few days since and converse with him about going to the Chickasaw Country in September. He favored your going as you would not have to travel as far as I. He will give you an order and both Gov't and A.M.A. action on building freedmen's schools there will depend on your report. I will communicate with you for this before that date.
Respectfully
H.W.Howard
