Mr Wm M. Colby

Dear Sir
When I wrote you last I thought surely my annoyances were ended.
I gave the freedmen permission to use the school house on Christmas Eve.
The next Tuesday they wanted it again for their debating society. I granted their request provided they would leave the house clean. They made good promises. New Years night the house was used (without consent) for a drunken frolic.
Last Monday morning I was completely disheartened when I went to the Lincoln Academy.
