Dear Sir
I read your notice to Mr Hanks and Read the same to him[[strikethrough]] illegible[[strikethrough]]Wm Epps being present Mr Hanks requested to write you that he never forbid him from striping they settled all the dificulties privately themselves & come in and ask me to write the contract between them which was in effect that Wm Epps should strip & prise 1/2 of the Tobacco & be at 1/2 the expenses &c- or in other words 1/2 the Tobacco should be Wm Epps & 1/2 Hanks all acts being settled to date with the Exception of 22 dollars Bal Due on Bond to Mr. Hanks they paid me the fee & Epps has since sold his interest for 250$
Jno Bullock (F) wishes to know what about some money for him from Hughes & Taylor he says you told him you would send it down here.  Jno Hargrove handed me an order addressed to Wm A Philpott I opened it before I saw it was directed to Mr. Philpott I wrote to him if he wished me to serve it to return it I did not know
