not stay at shuch a place. I went out to the Kitchen to pacify things, but she seemed so enraged that I could put no sense in her, She seemed at the time to be getting some of her things packed up, and I told her if she was for packing up, she might leave, and welcome. I did not care. She admitted here to day in the presence of some of my family that I did not tell her to leave, until after she had left the stove room and gone to her own room and commenced packing up.
The truth, Captain is she has two grown sons one of whom if not both, are strolling about the neighborhood, have not engaged to work for the year, and one of them, was most of the time here to eat on the old lady, or to eat on me I do not reckon she did get enough for all, but the idea of her not getting enough to eat at my house, and the Cook too, is rather absurd for herself alone.
I do not owe her $5 dollars for the time she stayed, but that is a small matter, and I am perfectly willing to pay her what I owe her after deducting an % of $1.50 which she owes me. Let me know if this will be satisfactory to you to meet at court.
yours truly
J.E. Lankford
