danger, I propose to take his [[oporation?]] [[Jebene epe?]], ongoing Mr Minor due notice. I hope this will be satisfactory, and that the trial be postponed [[strikethrough]][[?]] [[/strikethrough]] Friday, until Wednesday week; when if it be perfectly agreeble I will endeavor to attend in person, & assist in the crop examination.-

I talked with Harris the colored man yesterday, & discover that the statement [[strikethrough]] he says [[/strikethrough]] he then made to me and which I suppose to be that upon which your judgment in this matter is based, is not reconcileable to that he made in my office, in reply to Mr Jenkins and to formal statements by him made in the presence of Mr Jenkins, and other parties. -

Mr. Smith informs me that, Jenkins will be well enough to travel in the course of a couple of weeks.-
