Dear J. H.:

Many thanks for your note of January 8. Just for the record I am enclosing copy of my former letter to you which was airmailed in care of Irca and which must have gone astray.

I certainly do want the .220 and such ammunition as you may have and I consider your offer a most genuine one.

We will have no difficulty in arranging the import permit but I do require the serial number of the rifle and the exact quantity of the ammunition which will accompany it. Will you please have J. radio me the corresponding figures as soon as convenient so that we may proceed to obtain the required "oficio". No special data is necessary with respect to the telescope and any other accessories which you may be able to send along. Please let me know the lump sum involved and I will forward a check to cover.

With warm personal greetings and wishing you a healthy, happy and successful New Year, I remain

Sincerely,
