Dear Tubby,
In case you have not already heard, I know you will be interested and grieved to learn of the death of our good friend Admiral Ted Chandler, former CAFAC, Curacao. The item appeared in the local daily here last Friday, the day of our arrival and commented that Chandler had been in command of a cruiser division during the invasion of Luzon and he died in fleet action. His father, also an Admiral, had been Secretary of Navy toward the end of the last century. I have dropped a brief note to Dr. Kasteel, enclosing the clipping.
We shall spend a few more days here and then I leave to be in New York from the first on. The family will follow when I can lick the housing problem.
Regards to all in Mexico, especially Eleanor and yourself.

Sincerely
Max Idealey
