Dear Mr. Pogue:

It was good of you indeed to have so promptly dispatched the reprint of the article concerning The George C. Marshall Research Foundation, and do have my thanks for your note of March 14th.

In turn, let me say that I enjoyed our talk reminiscing about by-gone days and particularly those linked to General Marshall whom I always so greatly admired.

Going over some of my old files, I did find quite a number of letters from this truly remarkable man. If they all show the cordial and even - I dare say - friendly relationship that existed right along between us, they probably would not add much to the knowledge you already have of George Marshall's personality.

I have picked out a few which I would be glad to bring to your attention, were you to have another opportunity of dropping in on me. Of course, should you express such a desire, I would have a dozen of them photostated. Reading between the lines, I would say that several are distressing for they revel some of his disappointments, as well as his being misunderstood in different instances.

Also, as I suspected, I have rediscovered some old maps and orders- but these I feel would not contribute as much interest to the activities of the then Captain Marshall.
